Here at Hampden Park we are one of three schools in the Lakemba/Wiley Park School as Community Centre (SaCC), along with Lakemba Public School and Wiley Park Public School.
The SaCC'smission is:
- To provide a welcoming place for families to meet and enjoy activities with their children and neighbours.
- To be part of a family-focussed prevention and early intervention network of services
- To be part of an integrated approach to service delivery and planning by working in partnership with relevant local agencies.
- To provide appropriate, responsive, accessible information and support which helps families understand and enhance their children's development.
- To enhance community harmony and cohesion and facilitate local democracy.
- To be an advocate for the community by challenging inequalities and promoting social justice.
A few of the SaCC programs include our HPPS 'Playing Together' Playgroup (Wednesday mornings), Koorana Playgroup (Monday mornings), and the Lakemba Community Toy Library. The SaCC coordinator, Wendi Etherington, is based at Lakemba Public School but regularly visits all three schools campuses.
